At spitting distance from Gran Vía we bump into two barrios that invite us to an afternoon of shopping & sipping: Triball y Chueca. First we'll go shopping in Triball, a neighbourhood that fell out of favour after the Movida Madrileña in the eighties, but now has been transformed to one of Madrid's most avant-garde, bohemian, alternative areas with a unique mixture of fashion, gastronomy, art and design, that can easily compete with Soho in London or Tribeca in New York. Afterwards, the best idea is to relax in the backstreets of Chueca, sitting down and enjoying the best cocktails in town in a buzz of bars that rival eachother in offering "the best of the best".
